Terms and Conditions

Thank you for taking the time to learn about the Australian Institute of Management Education and Training's ("AIM") Terms and Conditions.

Please note that these terms and conditions do not apply to tailored closed cohort solutions. Separate terms and conditions are issued for these as part of the relevant services agreement.

The terms and conditions ("Terms") below govern enrolments into AIM Open Enrolment Short Courses and Short Course Microcredentials that are made through aim.com.au, the myAIM learning management system, over the telephone, by email or in person.

AIM reserves the right to change the particulars of the services, including changes to prices, courses, facilities, and dates of programs, where circumstances beyond AIM's control necessitate such changes or where the level of enrolments does not reach the minimum numbers required to operate a course viably. AIM also reserves the right to change course fees and these Terms for any reason, at any time and without notice.

If you proceed with an enrolment (whether through aim.com.au, the myAIM learning management system, over the telephone, by email or in person), you are deemed to have accepted the Terms and agreed to comply at all times, with AIM's policies and procedures and that you are responsible for informing yourself of the requirements applicable to you by accessing the policies and procedures available.

Any application or order received by AIM is an offer by you to enrol in a course at the price notified at the time of your application or order, and you acknowledge the Terms apply to any such offer.

Application, Enrolment, Transfers and Cancellations

You understand upon enrolling for a short course that you are obligated to pay for that course, remain liable for the fees, and it is not refundable unless the scheduled course is fully cancelled by AIM without being rescheduled in the 12 months following the original enrolment course end date.

You understand that if you cannot attend a short course you have enrolled in, you must contact AIM at least 2 weeks prior to the course start date and either:

  • Provide a substitute attendee to the short course.
  • Request your enrolment in the short course be changed to the same course at a future date; or
  • Request your enrolment in the short course be changed to a different course — additional fees may apply.

You understand that payment must be made within 14 calendar days after the invoice is issued by AIM.

You understand that you can only change your course enrolment details (date, course, attendee) once, and that training must occur within 12 months from the date of the first booking. For the Mini MBA course, which uses a two-stage delivery model with stage 1 needing to be completed prior to attending the instructor-led stage 2 element, you are only allowed to change the stage 2 enrolment date, to allow more time to complete stage 1, once.

You understand that if an invoice-based payment method is used and any fees are not paid by the due date, AIM may charge a late payment fee. If AIM deems it necessary to engage a debt collection agency to collect the outstanding amount, all costs associated with debt recovery will be added to the outstanding debt.

Course Delivery

You agree that you are required to use your best endeavours to meet the requirements of the course selected and to abide by the rules and regulations of AIM, including the Student Code of Conduct policy. You understand that if you breach any of AIM's rules or your behaviour is deemed unacceptable by AIM, your enrolment may be cancelled, and you may not be entitled to any refund of the tuition fees or other charges paid to AIM as applicable at that time.

You agree that all lessons and any related material supplied by AIM are secured by copyright. You understand that any unauthorised copying may constitute a breach of the Copyright Act 1968 (Cth) (as amended from time to time).

You agree that your log-in details for AIM courses delivered via the AIM Virtual Campus (using Zoom or an alternate platform) cannot be shared. In the case that you do share these details with others, it may lead to the cancellation of your enrolment.

You agree that it is your responsibility to check that the computer and internet service being used to access the AIM Virtual Campus are compatible with the minimum specification requirements that relate to the Zoom platform as per the Zoom system requirements guide.

You agree to test your system prior to attending a course on the Virtual Campus using the Zoom test functionality and should the test fail, seek support to rectify the issue.

You acknowledge and accept that AIM cannot be held responsible for any technical problems encountered, such as:

  • The operation of the internet and the World Wide Web, including but not limited to viruses
  • Any firewall restrictions that have been placed on your network or the computer you are using to access the Virtual Course
  • Failures of telecommunications links and equipment
  • Browser application version issues

You agree to advise AIM of any change of your address and/or contact details while you are enrolled in any course.

You acknowledge that you have read and understood the Complaints and Appeals Policy listed in the policy section above.

AIM maintains a Privacy of Student Information and Records Policy and Procedure, which can be viewed via the link in the policy section above. In addition to the provisions of this policy, you authorise AIM to:

  • Share information with third parties that relates to and enables the provision of diagnostic tools, training venues and feedback mechanisms. In these circumstances, only the minimum information is shared.
  • Release administrative information concerning your performance at AIM (including academic progress and attendance information) to any person who may lawfully require that information, as well as parents/guardians, agents and potential employers. If you do not agree, you must advise AIM in writing.

You understand that by agreeing to the Terms and through the provision of AIM's Complaints and Appeals Policy, this does not remove your right to take action under Australia's consumer protection laws.

AIM will not be liable or responsible for any failure to perform, or delay in performance of, any of our obligations that is caused by events outside AIM's reasonable control (Force Majeure Event). A Force Majeure Event includes any act, event, non-happening, omission or accident beyond AIM's reasonable control. AIM will use reasonable endeavours to bring the Force Majeure Event to a close or to find a solution by which obligations may be met despite the Force Majeure Event.
